INTERVIEW WITH MIKE RATHBONE, NFU CAMERA OPERATOR, 1975 - 1990
Mike Rathbone started his professional career as a stills photographer and while working for the NZ Herald as a news photographer, applied to work at the NFU as a camera assistant. That was in 1975, and he's still working as a cameraman today. In this interview he talks about the NFU in Miramar, the move to Avalon, and what not to do with a $200,000 35mm film camera.
