RECORDS OF NO. 2 CONSTRUCTION BATTALION

Explore First World War records in the Library and Archives Canada collection

During the First World War, more than 600 Black men served in No. 2 Construction Battalion. Mobilized in Truro, Nova Scotia, in 1916, the battalion was the only segregated unit in the Canadian Expeditionary Force.

Library and Archives Canada is pleased to offer a webinar on records about No. 2 Construction Battalion and those who served in it. This webinar explores military service files, the war diary and more historical records. We will demonstrate how to search for and access digitized records online in Collection Search (https://recherche-collection-search.b...).

We will gladly assist you in your research. Simply complete one of the following forms: Ask Us a Question (https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/assista...) or Ask Us a Genealogy Question (https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/assista...).
